Apéritifs, music, and events by the water: the new season of Phare Citadelle is here, with exciting novelties!

Phare Citadelle is one of Strasbourg’s favorite summer spots. Located on Rue de Nantes, right next to Batorama’s headquarters, this unique venue welcomes locals for drinks, work, a quick bite, or simply to soak up the sun by the water.

But what truly makes this place special is its lineup of events, happening both during the week and on weekends. With the 2025 season officially launched, here’s everything you need to know to get excited about coming back.

For several weeks now, the Phare team has been gearing up to celebrate the return of this ever-evolving space, ideally located right across from the Citadelle tram stop (line D). Taken over in 2021 by the SCIC Phare Citadelle, this former 1,800 m² industrial building has been completely renovated to welcome visitors from all backgrounds, offering both a vast outdoor terrace and spacious indoor areas (open until 2025).

Easily accessible by bike or tram, the venue transforms regularly to host a variety of events—and there are plenty to choose from! That’s one of Phare Citadelle’s greatest strengths. Whether it’s midday or late at night (open Wednesday through Sunday), there’s always something happening.

Starting in early June, Batorama will offer shuttle services from the Cathedral docks, providing a unique blend of relaxation and sightseeing.

A diverse and dynamic cultural program for everyone

The Phare Citadelle team has curated an impressive lineup of cultural events, including DJ sets and live concerts, but they didn’t stop there.

Think clothing markets, sports events, vintage fairs, workshops, exhibitions, debates, summer festivals, training sessions, film screenings, vinyl fairs, and even sophrology classes—there’s something for everyone, all season long.

Beyond simply hosting events, Phare Citadelle aims to foster social connections and a sense of community by breaking down barriers and encouraging the public to make the space their own.

Cultur’Apéro | April 4–6

To kick off the new season, Phare Citadelle is hosting a must-attend event for aperitif lovers: Cultur’Apéro.

For three days, visitors can explore 30 exhibitors, including brewers, winemakers, distillers, and local food artisans, all gathered to celebrate flavor and craftsmanship.

To mark the occasion—and to celebrate the return of NAO, Batorama’s electric leisure boat—guests can also enjoy an exclusive 30-minute cruise through the Étoile district with friends and family.

Phare Citadelle is open to everyone, making it easy to feel at home whether you’re a local or just visiting.

Right by the water, spacious, free to enter, and welcoming at any time of day, this venue invites Strasbourg residents to gather and enjoy.

According to the organizers, beyond being a cultural and social hotspot, Phare Citadelle is "a place where people from Neudorf, Port du Rhin, and Esplanade can connect thanks to thoughtfully designed communal areas".

For those looking to host events, Phare Citadelle also offers rental spaces for conferences, meetings, filming, exhibitions, cultural gatherings, and more.

Available for hire: a 950 m² hall, perfect for large events, a 500 m² bar and dining space and a stunning 250 m² wooden terrace overlooking the water.

A Quality Canteen and Bar at the Heart of the Project

What would a place like this be without a real culinary experience to delight your taste buds? Located at the very heart of the Phare Citadelle project (literally in the middle, impossible to miss), the canteen is open continuously from 12 PM to 10 PM, with the daily menu available while stocks last, from 12 PM to 2 PM. The canteen serves dishes that rival the best restaurants in the city center.

At lunchtime, for example, the chefs offer "fresh and seasonal cuisine, prepared on-site, using ingredients sourced from sustainable, organic, and French agriculture."

The menus are varied, constantly changing, and the prices are very reasonable (starter + main course + dessert for €20). In the evening, small finger foods and sharing platters (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian) take center stage.

As for the bar, it also holds its own against any high-quality establishment.

A wide selection of draft beers, natural wines by the glass or bottle (sourced from Fil du Vin Libre), cocktails, and hot drinks—all carefully selected. Just like the kitchen, the bar focuses on quality: this is far from being just another run-of-the-mill drinking spot.

The 2025 season at Phare Citadelle promises an exciting lineup of events, flavors, and encounters. With an ever-evolving program, a top-tier food and drink offering, and a community-driven spirit, this is one Strasbourg hotspot you won’t want to miss!
